EXPRL 180 Skills for Navigating College & Career • 2 Cr.


Introduce and explore four areas which may be difficult for students: executive functioning, social interaction, self-advocacy and self-regulation. This includes learning to identify strengths and weaknesses, as well as strategies for success. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor, cohort class.


After completing this class, students should be able to:

  • Define Executive Functioning, Self-Advocacy, Self Regulation and Social Interaction. 
  • Describe how these issues may affect themselves and others. 
  • Identify, and help others identify, specific interventions and accommodations to make the most of their personal strengths and difficulties. 
  • Identify and help others to identify personal goals and priorities related to these areas. 
  • Develop a personal plan and help others make a plan for accommodation, maximizing strengths, and improving skills in each area.
