Description

Provides experience in a community health setting such as a hospital wellness center, community wellness center, employee wellness center, wellness service provider company, or health department. Prerequisite: Admission to the Health Promotion and Management program, or permission of the Program Chair. Grading: Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory.

Outcomes

After completing this class, students should be able to:

  • • Assess personal and professional skills needed to become an effective Health Promotion Manager

  • • Identify personal leadership strengths and challenges through observation and practice

  • • Evaluate effectiveness of a wellness program based on established criteria

  • • Identify organization health and wellness needs, challenges and resources
