HLTH 297 Special Topics in Health - Global Wellness • 3 Cr.

The 2019 course is held in Costa Rica March 22-28, 2019. Students explore a highly biodiverse Blue Zone society that focuses on nine attributes for wellness. Health promoting and health inhibiting lifestyle practices are studied and compared to the United States. Factors such as socioeconomic status, nutritional habits and sustainable environmental practices are identified and applied to a project-based outcome.
